The really remarkable thing about such a silly twaddle like "gehatet" and "gelovet" is indeed not that people blow out this kind of mischief, but they are still taken seriously by many in it.
Usually something belongs in a cabaret, in the satire.
Recently, I was still thinking that the facebooksche "gedisliked" was absolutely amazing the German Weltnetzsprachverfuselungsidioten, and it keeps not bad with, but "gehatet" I like even better.
"Hated" you dare not say. That would be too German and clear: ie "hatet" one.
