And, behold, now turns itself a Jake (!!!) generally against (the formation of) secret societies.

(I do not know how he had then laughed at me or even ridiculed only mild, I would have predicted that he would probably ascend even to so much Gnosis, at some point in his intelligence perhaps even in this incarnation. Perhaps I've even times done, but I remember at least not exactly.)

Von alten und von neuen Schülern

Immer wieder große Freude bereitet es mir, mit aufgeweckten 16-18-Jährigen über das Allzumenschliche zu reden, über Psychologie im Alltag.

In diesem Alter haben die jungen Leute bereits eigene Beobachtungen zu den regelhaften Merkwürdsamkeiten ihrer Mitmenschen gemacht und sich einige interessante Gedanken dazu.

Nicht nur dass derlei Gespräche oft sehr lustig ausfallen; sie nehmen weiterführende Beispiele, erläuternde Schwänke und Anekdoten mit großer Verständnisbereitschaft, mitunter fast begierig, schnell dazu ermutigt, eigene Geschichten einzubringen, auf.

Manchmal ist es, wie als ob da ein fruchtbares Feld, auf dem schon manche Blume erblüht, mancher Same schon gequollen, mancher Keimling nur noch etwas gegossen und gedüngt werden wollte, um zu voller gesunder Pracht hin gedeihen zu können. (weiterlesen…)

Montaigne

Montaigne schreibt in seinem zweiten Hauptstück “Von der Traurigkeit”: “Ich bin von dieser Leidenschaft so sehr, als jemand, befreyet. Ja, ich liebe und achte dieselbe auch nicht: ob sich gleich die Welt gleichsam um die Wette bemühet, sie mit ganz besonderer Gunst zu beehren. Man kleidet die Weisheit, die Tugend, schalt das Gewissen, darein. Ein thörichter und schimpflicher Putz! Die Italiäner haben sie füglicher mit dem Namen der Boshaftigkeit beleget. Denn, sie ist eine allzeit schändliche, allezeit tolle Eigenschaft. Daher verbieten sie auch die Stoiker ihren Weisen, weil sie allezeit feig und niederträchtig ist.”

Harte, stolze Worte. Scham bei mir.
