They called such people earlier dissidents.
This was a word of praise: As Brave, the freedom of half serious personal and professional disadvantages, if not harsh persecution, sometimes up to camp imprisonment or death, willing to accept, they praised warden.
Our present President was so one is at least as traded today, only that with the disadvantages, as no one else except the nomenklatura had a VW bus, but was not quite as bad; and the word it no longer falls to.
Did they come in the "free West", as they were showered with honors, their writings and statements have been heretofore glorified, discussed in all the arts pages, they were heroes.
Well, dissident is, from the word meaning forth, first one who does not sit down with the other to wegsetzt even of this. That he may not be the Great Chairman, not the Minister or speech writer, not even assessors, is clear.
It is also clear that such a concept, the all too long ago was not an honorary title, not today's local dissidents granted: its connotation remembers still too much of a good thing.

I do feel in this sold-out to banks and Sonstnochwen shop called Federal Republic of Germany therefore by no means better or more comfortable or somehow upgraded, but I throw this word back in the face of those who used to be so happy to use it. Because I'm just too semanticists, namely that of a wicked variety which is not so easy to forget.
