Hello
Copied from Wikipedia:
The Idiot (from the Greek ἰδιότης (idiotes) "owner" "peculiarity", "character" [1]; Latinized idiota "layman", "quack", "Tinker", "ignoramus" [2]) was in Ancient Greece a man of Private not separated between public (such as artisans and merchants), or someone who has been prohibited the Political (such as women and slaves). The political space was synonymous with the concept of the public. Who was not private matters in their own homes ("oikos") concealed or not suitable for public life considered (see above), as "idiotes" (by owner) was called. [3]
Later the term was commonly applied to lay people or people with a low level of education.
Wow, is not it?
