es ist erschütternd, wie groß die Kluft zwischen Theorie und Praxis geworden ist.
Ich bekomme allerdings auch hautnah mit, wie gering die Möglichkeiten in Deutschland für ambitionierte Berufseinsteiger sind, gute journalistische Arbeit zu leisten. Da ist es tatsächlich aktuell einfacher, im Ausland eine Festanstellung zu bekommen, insbesondere mit guter Ausbildung und Mehrsprachigkeit, als in Deutschland.
Investigativer Journalismus kostet etwas und das will niemand bezahlen. Da muss man der Realität einfach ins Auge sehen. Hier setzen auch die hochgelobten Kräfte des sogenannten freien Marktes ein und es gibt – drastisch betrachtet – nichts marktradikaleres als den Kunden, der sich aber auch im gleichen Atemzug dann wieder lauthals über die schlechte Qualität der Medien beklagt.
Das ist bei Jobs übrigens ganz ähnlich. Alle wollen gut dotierte Jobs haben, am besten noch mit Zusatzversorgung und ordentlichem Jahresurlaub. Gekauft wird aber vorzugsweise dort, wo es billig zugeht, weil die Leute dort schlecht bezahlte oder bestenfalls gar keine Jobs haben – siehe Supermärkte mit self-checkout-Kassen oder online-shops. Guter Service, weil kostenlos, ist der, den man selber macht.
Für Null Euro im Journalismus kriege ich bestenfalls den Praktikanten, der sich durch diese Investition erhofft, nach absehbarer Zeit eine bezahlte Festanstellung in einer Redaktion zu bekommen, was nach Lage der Dinge nahezu aussichtslos ist.
Bei der Vorteilsannahme musste ich schmunzeln. Presseleute bekommen Sondertarife in Hotels, bei Veranstaltungen, Freikarten usw usw… Einer der wenigen Vorzüge dieses Jobs. Wenn man schon nicht oder schlecht bezahlt wird, dann freut man sich doch wenigstens über diese “Naturalien”. Besser als nichts. Ich finde es auch beschämend, wenn Vorzeigejournalisten für Tausende bei Verbänden, Organisationen oder auch Wirtschaftsunternehmen Veranstaltungen moderieren. Das müsste sich von selbst verbieten. Richtern kann man wegen Befangenheit einen Fall entziehen. Wie sieht das bei Journalisten aus? Für mich ist so etwas Käuflichkeit par excellence.
Das Internet ist Informationsquelle, Tummelplatz für Hobbyschreiber und Meinungkundtuer und auch der Friedhof für den Qualitätsjournalismus. Niemand zahlt mehr für etwas, was er – angeblich – auch kostenlos online bekommen kann. Somit brauchen wir gar nicht spöttisch über Fox-News zu lästern. Im Prinzip ist es in Deutschland auch so weit. Infotainment statt objektiver Information, Nachrichten-Fast-Food statt investigativer Berichterstattung von studierten Profis. Aktive Meinungsbildung anstatt objektiver Berichterstattung. Die Claims sind doch schon vergeben. Im Polit-Talk muss man sich doch nur die Gästeliste ansehen und weiß schon, wie das Ergebnis dieser Runde sein wird. Die Meinung, die man hören will, bekommt 4 Gäste – die gegenteilige Meinung einen einzigen und dann auch noch jemanden, der offensichtlich schwach ist. Mittlerweile sehe ich mir Sendungen nicht mehr unter dem Aspekt der Information an, sondern mit der Frage, wohin sie mich schieben sollen. Keine Doku, kein Film, keine Talkrunde mehr ohne Message.
Besonders übel finde ich übrigens die aktuelle Westerwelle-Debatte in den Medien. Die Medien werfen der FDP Königsmord vor, dabei gibt es kaum einen Politiker, der im Dauerfeuer so öffentllich von den Medien demontiert wurde, wie Westerwelle. Das ging so unter die Gürtellinie, dass man sich nur noch schämen konnte. Es war einfach opportun, auf ihn einzudreschen, egal mit welcher Begründung und die Scheinheiligkeit, mit der nun über die Partei geurteilt wird, ist kaum noch überbietbar.
Zur Finanzierung der Medien durch Werbung:
Wer wird schon einen negativen Bericht über ein Unternehmen veröffentlichen, wenn gleichzeitig dieses Unternehmen ständig auf der eigenen Website gegen harte Euronen Anzeigen schaltet?

Ich halte das für eine schlechte Entwicklung. Ich will das Internet nicht abschaffen, ich halte auch Blogs für eine sinnvolle Einrichtung. Ich hätte nur gern den guten, investigativen Journalismus als 4. Instanz im Staat, als Kontrollorgan, wieder zurück und da glaube ich eben, dass das nur über ein bezahltes Portal geht. Meinung muss wieder von Information deutlich getrennt werden. Den Bürgern müsste das ebenso viel wert sein, wie die Qualität ihres Essens. Es gibt eben nicht nur die Nahrung für den Körper, sondern auch die für den Geist.
Die Kunst liegt – wie bei so vielem – in der Aufwertung. Es gibt nicht nur die finanzielle Aufwertung, sondern auch die moralische. Und da muss eben doch wieder über Ethik gesprochen werden, über einen Ehrenkodex, darüber, dass es eben etwas besonderes ist, diesen Beruf auszuüben, dass man keinen Job hat, sondern eine Aufgabe, eine wichtige Funktion.
Allerdings sehe ich diese Entwicklung in Deutschland aktuell nicht. Da bin ich auch realistisch.

Wie soll denn ein Johannes Baptist (lustig!) Kerner noch vernünftig über Krieg, übers deutsche Militär reden können, wenn er mit Guttenberg und seiner Tuss in Afghanistan eine PR-Show “moderiert” hat?

Sie sprechen mir mit obigem aus der Seele.
Immerhin warf man Westerwelle nicht auch noch direkt vor, er sei eben zu schwul, um einen ordentlichen, völkerrechts- wie grundgesetzwidrigen Angriffskrieg anzufangen.
Für so etwas brauche man schon einen stattlichen Freiherrn Erectus (einen Doktor braucht man dafür nicht), der weiß, wo sein Schniedel hingehört.
Das wäre nunmal einerseits nicht politisch korrekt, andererseits zu selbstentlarvend gewesen.

Damit hätten aber die grünen KriegsbefürworterInnen ein Problem. Erst heute morgen habe ich mir die hartaberfair-Sendung von gestern online angesehen und Bärbel Höhn dazu gehört.
Nein, auf WWs Homosexualität herumzureiten hätte sich nach aktueller Lage der Dinge niemand getraut. Zu schnell fängt man sich dann die grassierende Homophobie und die wird man dann nie mehr los.
Man mag nun zu WW stehen wie man will, aber diese üblen Spielchen, die man da getrieben hat und immer noch treibt, sind für ein demokratisches Land unter aller Kanone. Allen voran fällt mir da Özdemir mit seinem Video ein, in dem er sich öffentlich für WWs angeblich schlechtes Englisch “entschuldigt”. Das ist so peinlich, dass man diesen Mann eigentlich sofort aller Ämter entheben müsste. So etwas ist wirklich unterste Schublade und Abschaum.
Seltsamerweise hat sich aber darüber auch kaum jemand aufgeregt, ebenso wie über Tritt-ihn's offensichtlich schlechte Geschichtskenntnisse bezüglich Lübke. Mehr als Achselzucken kommt da nicht.

Ja, man macht WW nach allen Regeln der Unkultur fertig.
Ich weiß ja nicht, welchen Spätzles-Akzent Özdemir in seinem Englisch mit sich führt, ob Sie und ich dessen Diktion sonderlich ernstnähmen.
Fällt mir gerade ein, lustig auch, dass man so ein Sprachgehunze wie das der deutschen GrünInnen im Englischen meines Wissens gar nicht kennt.
Unter Arbeitern sagte man: Zu dumm, um ein Loch in den Schnee hineinzubrunzen.
Oder auch: Die gehörten alle mal ordentlich…Aber wer schafft das, sich derartig granate vollaufen zu lassen, dass er gar nichts mehr mit- und das dann trotzdem noch hinkriegt?
Es läuft eben eine gnadenlose Kampagne: WW ist “WANTED”. (Also erwünscht im Sinne des Abschusses)
(Nicht) erstaunlich auch, dass Guttenberg, der sich harsche Kritik durch seine Lügerei und seine folgenden Mitleidsplatten (un-)redlich selbst verdiente, Rückendeckung bis zum Letzten bekam (Wer ohne Sünde ist…), jeden Kalauer versuchend, der nur aus der Mottenkiste der Idiomatik gezogen werden kann, während für WW keiner auch nur einen Finger krumm macht.
Nun gut, oder vielmehr schlecht, immerhin wissen wir, weshalb.
