We had already a long discussion about it and I am now more than ever convinced that (at least optional) anonymity on the Internet is extremely important and necessary. Systems that want to force me to clear name, I boycott, whether Facebook or uncensored / zeitgeist.
Have you by the way mitgekriegt what has been revealed about the surveillance technologies now used lately? 1) Anonymous hack on HBGary, 2nd) from Ägyptenss Stasi headquarters "liberated" secret documents on the supply of hammer-monitoring programs from Germany. And that's just the tip of an enormous iceberg. This stuff can be used not only by intelligence agencies but also by Hinz and Kunz, eg by thousands of horny Company information. Do you have any idea, how many databases in each comment, each tweet for years, if not centuries is stored? What are the mad highly intelligent evaluation and linking options? A thoughtless word thoughtlessly typed - and you can still be sued years later for this and are still associated after decades hence.

In many ways I agree - especially as regards the general thoughts on the blog and comment character.
In the plain name issue it maybe comes down to how we perceive our political and social environment. In a liberal democracy, as it existed at least to some extent in Germany 30 years ago, I would hardly hesitate to reveal my name. In this globalized and round-supervised party Lobbykratie I find it not so easy.
Of course you lead to cope (I press it once somewhat inflated from) that it takes light bringer, especially in the dark. Certainly the leading reconnaissance need a lot of courage, for they know not whether they will one day end up on a ministerial chair or on the scaffold (or both, in that order). Not everyone has what it takes to Danton, but this also needs the great anonymous mass behind. No one knows the names of all the conquerors of the Bastille.
So, you mean that even apprenticeships are a folk hero free? I have for anyone who follows this career, a lot of respect, but I myself will take from applying distance ...;)
