We use once in case of the above proverb is some truth to it.
Then I interpret the thing first so that the stupidity strives instinctively to protect themselves by sheer mass, while the intelligence drinks to be easier to bear one hand, the stupid and the other hand, the condition of something closer to at least the noise, so that social self at least from to become something more acceptable.
Does anyone have a better explanation?

Something like that must be the well. Sometimes it is better you did not know as much of the crap that happens everywhere. Something stupid have a better life.
Sometimes alcohol is just good to forget something, though only momentarily, but still.

I notice this now enough to believe that intelligence is looking disinhibition.
My purely pragmatic explanation: without water to survive max. a week without food. more than a month Related to crisis situations, it is self-explanatory I think.

"Stupidity eats" could also be of Luther as well as "Who does not rülpset an d furzet ...".
Sounds more like an old wisdom, while "intelligence säuft" seems to come from the modern period.
